This may sound obvious, but its not. Too many applicants walk into an interview without knowing as much as they should about the industry, the company and its problems. Remember: You are there to solve a problem. Otherwise, the company wouldnt be hiring. Follow these steps: 2. Know yourself. Mentally review the skills and character traits you have that will help the companys bottom line. Think in terms of the value you can add to the position and the company. Extra Tip from Career Coach Hallie: Write down everything you’ve accomplished in your life, I mean everything. Then identify which accomplishments and skills you have that will specifically help them. Pretend youre in their shoes. Ask yourself, why should I hire you? How are you going to help me?
